The misspelling of the animal name "Echnida" in our book was not an error but a deliberate choice inspired by the work of the talented artist Minna Leunig. We were drawn to Leunig's stunning aboriginal art piece titled "Echnida," which is a uniquely captures the essence of this spiny mammal. Aboriginal people have a rich cultural history with echidnas and the spelling of the animal's name can vary depending on the language group. We were fortunate to have the endorsement and permission of an Aboriginal elder (Uncle Dennis) to use the spelling "Echnida" in our book, as it aligns with the tradition and culture of the Aboriginal community.
