Is It Fair? Or Is It “Reasonable and Necessary”?

The NDIS doesn’t fund everything. It funds what’s “reasonable and necessary.” But what does that actually mean?

It means the support must be directly related to your disability. It should help you live your life, work towards your goals, and increase independence. It also needs to be value for money. The NDIS won’t fund things everyone needs, like groceries or rent. And it won’t cover something if another service—like Medicare or education—should provide it.

The big question is: Does it help you in a way that makes sense for your disability? If yes, it might be covered. If not, probably not.

Need help working out what’s reasonable and necessary for you? That’s where we come in. Contact Yarning Crescent today, and let’s make sure your plan works for you.
